Results of the latest round of negotiations
  • Increase of salaries under the collective agreement by 2.11%


Minimum wage / minimum salary
  • Simple tasks: from EUR 1,608.23 to EUR 1,782.47
  • Tasks requiring qualification: from EUR 1,720.12 to EUR 3,018.35
  • Tasks requiring high qualification: from EUR 2,475.87 to EUR 5,508.13

Table II applies to apprentices who commence their training after 1 November 1990, after reaching the age of 18 or upon completion of their secondary-school leaving exam.

Working time
The regular working time is 38.5 hours per week.

Supplement for extra hours
: usually 50%, during specified times 100%, with a base wage factor of 1/144.


Notice periods
Notice periods apply according to Section 20 of the Salaried Employees Act (
Angestelltengesetz, AngG
)
For employers:
6 weeks
after 2 years of employment 2 months
after 5 years of employment 3 months
after 15 years of employment 4 months
after 25 years of employment 5 months
For employees:
1 month

Please note: Expiry of claims
  • Any claims to overtime wages must be asserted within four months
  • Any claims to separation allowances must be asserted within three months
  • Evidence of previous employment relationships for crediting earlier employment periods – expire after 2 months
  • Kilometre allowance – expire after two months


Other results achieved regarding socio-political aspects
  • Ten months of parental leave per child is counted towards advancement
  • Obligation to retain apprentices for six months after they have completed their apprenticeship
  • Special payments: Christmas bonus (
    Weihnachtsgeld
    ) and annual leave bonus (
    Urlaubszuschuss
    )
  • Anniversary payments (anniversary bonus)
  • Biennial increases (
