Results of the latest round of negotiations
  • Increase of minimum base salaries by 9.04 %


Minimum wage / minimum salary
  • Simple tasks: from EUR 1,983,13 to EUR 2,638,33
  • Tasks requiring qualification: from EUR 2,569,67 to EUR 4,383,43
  • Tasks requiring high qualification: from EUR 3,572,05 to EUR 7,677,52


Apprenticeship pay

Table II applies to apprentices who commence their training after 1 November 1990, after reaching the age of 18 or upon completion of their secondary-school leaving exam.


Supplements and allowances
  • Supplements and allowances under the collective agreement in the first year of employment: EUR 31.11, after the first year: EUR 133.39 per month
  • Supplement III after the first employment year: EUR 150.57 per month
  • Dirt, hardship and hazard allowances where also applicable to workers


Working time
The regular working time is 38 hours per week

Supplement for extra hours
: usually 50 %, during specified times 200 %, with a base wage factor of 1/142.5.


Notice periods
Notice periods apply according to Section 20 of the Salaried Employees Act (
Angestelltengesetz, AngG
)
For employers:
up to 2 years of employment 6 weeks
after 2 years of employment 2 months
after 5 years of employment 3 months
after 15 years of employment 4 months
after 25 years of employment 5 months
For employees:
1 month

Please note: Expiry of claims
Compensation for travel expenses must be submitted (invoice) for each past calendar month until the end of the next calendar month.
The claims expire if such invoices are not issued within three further calendar months; in case of an inability to provide an invoice without one’s own fault, claims expire within two calendar months after the inability ended. Claims to overtime wages must be asserted within four months after the day overtime work was performed.


Other results achieved regarding socio-political aspects
  • Ten months of parental leave per child is counted towards advancement
  • Obligation to retain apprentices for six months after they have completed their apprenticeship
